Construction of Sub-Base
Removal of top soil and vegetation to expose the sub-base.
The amount of top soil will vary depending on how good the land is. On sloping sites a 'cut and fill' operation will be undertaken.
Drainage will vary from site to site. On most sites a membrane will be laid, this will help stabalise and seperate the soil from the sub-base material. A layer of clean limestone/granite is laid and compacted. A second membrane is then laid on top of the clean stone.
Surfaces
We use various surfaces, all suitable for Indoor and Outdoor Arenas including:
Combi-Ride We highly recommend this fibre mix. The fibres are mixed into the top 50mm/75mm of Quality Equestrian Sand to give a very stable and firm ride. This surface is ideal for adding to existing arenas to help stabalise sand that is riding deep. Silica Sand Top quality equestrian sand - firm and free draining. Not recommended on it's own as it will freeze in winter. Rubber Trax Chopped rubber with fabric/fibre content. Gives added spring to your surface. Freeze resistant and durabel. Laid at a depth of 50mm over quality equestrain sand or at a depth of 25mm over combi-ride.
